My name is Patricia. I have a BA in French, although my first language is English. I know how hard it is to learn a language! I also have a CELTA certificate. I began teaching by accident. I substituted one day for a teacher friend and I knew this is what I had to do for my career. I have been teaching ESL for more than 20 years.

For many years, I worked in a program sponsored by the Canadian Government for immigrants moving to Canada. In this program I taught students of all levels as well as helping them with settlement issues. For 8 years I taught Academic Preparation for students wishing to attend university in Canada. In this program I taught Reading, Writing, Advanced Grammar and TOEFL writing. I use a learner-centered approach in my teaching.

I love to find out what interests my students have and what their objectives in learning English are. In my free time, I love to cook and I enjoy trying to make different foods from other cultures. I also love cats and gardening. I am looking forward to meeting you in my online classroom.
