Mark Alexander

Hi, my name’s Mark and I have been teaching English as a foreign language for more than twelve years. I started teaching English when I was travelling in Thailand in 2004 as I thought it would be a great way to meet new people from all over the world.

I am now back in the United Kingdom which has given me the perfect opportunity to get into online teaching, where I can teach students from different time zones all across Europe and Asia.

Over the course of my career I have taught at primary schools, secondary schools as well as high schools and private language centres. I have also taught at hospitals, the Royal Thai Army and the Thai Ministry of Education.

I am CELTA qualified and also hold a certificate in ‘How to teach IELTS’, I specialise not just in teaching general English but also business English and medical English with a focus on pronunciation and fluency.

I believe a good teacher has to be knowledgeable, friendly and patient and understand the learning process as well as the struggles language students face and as a learner of Thai and Russian it is easy for me to relate.

In my free time I enjoy urban sketching, painting, writing blogs and mountain biking and it is always great to meet students who share the same interests but if you don’t, don’t worry I always have something to share with you.
