Marie-Louise

My name is Marie-Louise, though people call me ML for short. I studied LLB Law at the University of South Africa with English as a first year major and I finally graduated with honours. A few years years back I embarked on an amazing journey which was also the start of my teaching career. I taught English in Thailand for various age groups for almost 2 years. I focused on public speaking and conversational English. It was amazing to travel, teach English as a second language and make a difference. I also taught English in Singapore for 6 months. Then I traveled to and explored other parts of Asia, the USA and Mexico. I love traveling, experiencing new places and learning new languages. For the last year I've been an English teacher and tutor in South Africa. 

I'm so excited to be teaching on Skyeng! I believe in key principles like being observant, having a real interest in students lives and backgrounds and making you feel comfortable in my presence. Giving recognition to keep you motivated is important. I also believe that the learning process must be fun. Teaching really is my passion and I absolutely love the English language.
