My name is Catherine, but everyone calls my Cathy. I am originally from Edinburgh in Scotland in the UK, but I now live in Valencia, Spain. I am a qualified Engineer with over 20 year’s business experience, and I also have a degree in Marine Operations. During my time as an Engineer, I travelled around most of the world and worked with many different nationalities and cultures. In my spare time I would help my friends and colleagues learn English, and in return, they taught me about their cultures and way of life. I found it to be fun and enjoyable.

When I moved to Spain in 2010 I became a teacher. I have taught students from all around the world with varying levels of English. I have been teaching online for a few years. I teach from Basic English up to advanced Business English level, I have also prepared students for IELTS. I take my job seriously as a teacher, but I also like to ensure my students feel relaxed and have fun. I like to ensure my students come away from the lesson having not only learned English but enjoyed doing so.

 In my free time I enjoy being outside. I also enjoy travelling, Spanish cooking, horse riding and jet skiing.

 I am dedicated to my work, and you will find me to be a patient, caring, serious, but fun teacher who will go at your pace. I will improve your strengths and work on your weaknesses enabling you to feel more confident in using English. Not only do I enjoy the fact that my students come away from the lesson having learned English, and be able to use it, but I may have learned a few things too!
