My name is Güven. I am from Turkey and I live in İstanbul. I studied English Language Teaching as a Foreign Language at University. I did my M. A. in Teaching English, too. I have been teaching English to people of all ages for 17 years. Currently I am teaching at a university in İstanbul. I love teaching because when I teach someone even a word that means I make a change in their mind and life which will last forever. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to meet and talk to people from different backgrounds and cultures, which like a lot. I know how challenging it is to learn a new language because I have been through that process when I was learning English. Therefore, I can understand areas of language where students have a lot of problems with and I know a lot about how to help students with those problems. I personally believe that it takes a lot of meaningful practice to learn a language. Therefore I always try to create opportunities to express themselves in English both written and spoken. Most people love cars and die to own one. I was like that, too. But two years ago I decided that I was sick and tired of getting stuck in traffic, looking for a parking space, paying for the gas, insurance, service and everything. As a result, I sold my car and now I am cycling or taking the public transportation to everywhere. I am interested in renewable energy like solar power. I took a course on it. I am also using an electric bike which has 0 carbon footprint: )
