My name is Diana Sierra Amado. I ́m 33 years old and I speak 4 languages : English,Spanish,
French and German. I went to a german high school based in my hometown , which allowed me
to get in contact with another language and another culture from a very young age. At age 17 I
made an international exchange in Germany for 6 months. After graduating from High School I
moved to France. I studied Fine Arts and art history. Lived in the south for 3 years and in Paris
for almost 7 years. During my college years I became an English tutor to earn some extra
money because student life in Paris can be very expensive.But after some weeks I fell in love
with teaching and have been teaching ever since. I started as a private tutor for kids after
school, mainly helping them with their homework and final exams preparation. My classes were
mainly conversational and introduced them to grammar through conversation. With Kids i learnt
to be very creative since it is very difficult to gain their attention. After 5 years doing this in
France as a side job I decided to commit full time to teaching. I accepted a job in my hometown
in a bilingual arts university where i teach students art history and fashion history in both english
and spanish, i also continue as a part time private lessons english and french tutor since i
believe teaching a language is a great tool for transmitting not only linguistic knowledge but also
culture. I really enjoy the process of introducing my students to a new culture through a
language. It is a beautiful exchange.
