Hi, I am Sylvia Aten-an and welcome to Skyeng. 
With the love for language, I graduated as an Educator major in English from Benguet State University. I value education much so I took up my Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the same university taking up Psychology as my minor. 
I find teaching challenging yet rewarding. As an educator, I find it rewarding to see the improvement of my students. Teaching entails patience, sense of humor, creativity, optimism, logical reasoning and a whole lot more. I find it my duty to care, touch and empower my students.  
It’s been more than ten years since I started teaching formally. Adding my tutoring experience, it would be thirteen years already yet I still enjoy teaching.
I first worked as a private tutor for English and Math when I was a university student. After graduating as an educator, I taught at H. O. P. E. Christian Academy Incorporated and at the same time a volunteer teacher at PH106, Compassion International to primary and secondary students. However, I find it difficult to assess and create differentiated learning materials given the big number of students in every class so I decided to shift into private teaching. This gives me more opportunity to adjust my teaching style and learning materials that can address the needs of my students. 
I always work hard to make my class fun. I enjoy sharing ideas and learning from my students too. Teaching learners from different cultures, English level and age group helped me become more flexible and adaptive. 
All work makes a dull person so when given an opportunity, I relax by listening to music, reading books and doing photography. 
I am looking forward to having you in my class, I am teacher Sylvia and welcome to Skyeng.
